The Officer Administering the Government of Hong Kong to
the Secretary of State for the Colonies.

British Consul General at Batavia has
telegraphed Foreign Office representing difficulty of
obtaining dertificate of Interest in respect of rattan
and ebony from Celebes and Dutch Borneo. Trade is
important and would suggest that importation of the se
articles may be permitted under guarantee of Agents
to obtain Certificate within two months.
